Getting a photo of the Duomo proved to be a little more challenging than I thought it would be, of course. It was always surrounded by crowds of people, and since it is situated right in the middle of Florence, it is not easy to get an angle of the Cathedral that shows you a great deal of the structure, even with a wide angle lens. While I was there I took some close up detail shots, but that was not what I wanted.

This shot was more what I was looking for, to get it I went to Piazzale Michelangelo, a square on a hill on the other side of the Arno River, known for its panoramic view of Florence.
